Team Expectations

The primary goal of Hale-Ray Varsity Cheerleading is to build leaders who understand they are powerful creators of their own lives and who inspire their school and community.

  1. We put safety first.  I have zero tolerance in this area.
  2. We respect each other at all times.  Not one single athlete or parent should ever be disrespectful to anyone unless your goal is to get kicked off the team.  Again, zero tolerance.
  3. We cheer for our teams and motivate the crowd at every home game during our season.
  4. We come to every single practice.
  5. We set standards for excellence in everything we do on and off the court because we are role models who inspire others to be their best selves.
  6. We are highly focused on cultivating a growth mindset and set big, scary goals that put us outside our comfort zone in order to become our best selves.
  7. We lift each other up every chance we get.  We are not a team, we are a family and we always have each other’s backs.
  8. We live with an attitude of gratitude.  We try to find reasons to be grateful and to express it to others in our lives every chance we get.
  9. We accept responsibility for everything in our own lives.  If we don’t get what we want we do not turn to others to make things happen for us, we look at where we can improve and then we get to work.
  10. We go to at least two competitions per season, shorelines and states.  Our goal every year is to beat our score from the year before.

The Words We Live By:

Cheerleader is made up of two words:

  1. CHEER:  Cheer means it’s our job to lead the crowd and motivate our teams.  We can help to control the game by getting the crowds pumped and helping the players stay positive.  Cheering them on can help to win the game!
  2. LEADER: Cheerleaders are leaders on and off the court.  We hold ourselves to a higher standard of behavior at all times because we are role models.  We inspire others to be their best selves by being positive and setting a good example.

Our first priority is SAFETY.  All cheerleaders who are passionate about stunting should be working hard in the off-season to build the strength needed to accomplish their stunting goals.

RESPECT is what this team is built on.  Strong people build others up.  Strong people inspire each other to be more.  Strong people do not criticize or tear each other down ever or under any circumstances.
